Like so many Americans, I watched the scenes of Afghanistan's fall with disbelief, extreme sadness and even anger. You see, I served the greatest country on Earth in Afghanistan back in 2015. But Afghanistan wasn't the only place I looked terrorism directly in the eyes...
August 21st 2021 marked six years since the fateful late-summer afternoon that changed my life and those of my two best friends - forever.
I had just finished serving our great nation in Afghanistan when my best friends and I decided to take a vacation in Europe. We were traveling on a Paris-bound train when a terrorist emerged from the bathroom, bare-chested and armed with an assault rifle, a jar of gasoline, and 270 rounds of ammunition attempted to take over and kill us all.
As a soldier, I was trained to take out a terrorist threat -As an American, I was taught to stand up for freedom no matter where I was in the world. Which is why I, my friends and other brave travelers took the action needed to stop this terrorist.
This split-second decision prevented what witnesses contend could have become a mass slaughter. There is a reason I was able to make this split-second decision to intervene, – I have and always will be willing to give my life in the fight for freedom, in the image of true American values.
Now, our homeland is in danger. Not from radical Islamic terrorists, but radical Democrats who want to fundamentally alter the fabric of this GREAT nation. Leftist legislation is assaulting our Nation, our communities, and the American Dream.
