Protecting Girls' Sports

Nationwide, we continue to see the drastic effects of allowing boys to compete in girls' sports. In Pennsylvania, a transgender swimmer is breaking records competing in women's swimming competitions — making a mockery of the hard work put in by female athletes. After decades of women fighting for equality in sports, this is absurd and an injustice to women athletes everywhere!

It is no secret that when we see males competing in girls' sports, we see the loss of opportunities. Girls lose chances to compete for and receive athletic scholarships, professional sports careers, and the chance to compete on a level playing field. More than that, it turns sports into a series of demoralizing defeats, as we already see in Pennsylvania.

We will never allow this to happen in Texas. Parents should not have to worry about their daughters competing against males, who have many physiological advantages over females.

The Texas Senate passed a bill banning boys from playing girls' sports FOUR times before finally becoming law in the special session. I never gave up on this issue. This bill ensures that men and boys will not be allowed to compete against women and girls in individual and team sports or for sports scholarships. Despite the attacks from the Left, we will never force girls to compete against boys in sports — not in Texas!

Tarrant County GOP Gala

I spoke at the Tarrant County Republican Party Grand Old Gala on Saturday. It was a packed house! I joined Texas Senate candidates Tan Parker and Phil King for a great night.

I also joined Senators Birdwell, Buckingham, and Nelson at the event. Dawn Buckingham is running for Texas Land Commissioner and she has my full endorsement.
