Two weeks ago, the Keystone Pipeline burst in North Dakota, spilling 383,000 gallons of dirty, sticky tar sands oil — just as we predicted it would.
We still don’t know the full extent of the damage, but on Monday the pipeline was already running again. And the company that operates the pipeline is still pushing to build an even bigger pipeline, the Keystone XL.
This is absurd.
We're fighting in Washington, D.C. and in state capitols to stop pipelines like Keystone XL and others that will not only lead to more spilling, but will doom us to climate chaos.

The October 31 Keystone oil spill is the pipeline’s 21st, totaling more than 1 million gallons of oil spilled since 2010.1 TC Energy (formerly Transcanada), the company that operates the pipeline, promises that there’s no risk of further spilling, but that's what they said before the last spill.
We’re not surprised. This is what pipelines do. They leak.

Keystone XL is just one of several dangerous pipelines we're fighting against right now. In addition, we're fighting:
The Williams Northeast Supply Enhancement (NESE) fracked gas pipeline through Pennsylvania, New Jersey and the waters off Staten Island, Brooklyn and the Rockaways.
* The Mariner East 2 project, carrying super-pressurized, highly volatile liquids in Pennsylvania, and the PennEast fracked gas pipeline in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
* The Atlantic Coast and Mountain Valley pipelines through Virginia.
* Enbridge's proposed plans to both replace and expand its Line 3 pipeline through lakes and wetlands and further entrench its dangerous Line 5 pipeline in our Great Lakes.
The tar sands oil spilled by Keystone hasn’t even been cleaned up yet, but the pipeline is back up and running, and oil industry lobbyists are pushing for even dirtier, more dangerous pipelines for tar sands oil, fracked gas and more.
We’re throwing up roadblocks at every level to stop these pipelines and protect our land, water and climate. Will you donate?
