We're ensuring Black LGBTQ youth are represented beyond Black History Month.
Hi Friend,
Unique challenges exist at the intersection of Blackness and queerness — Black LGBTQ young people hold multiple marginalized identities, making them particularly susceptible to mental health concerns. Experiences of discrimination, rejection, threats, and violence are compounded and can lead to negative mental health outcomes. In order to address these racial disparities, we’ve created a guide specific to supporting Black LGBTQ youth mental health.
In the past year, 53% of Black LGBTQ youth wanted counseling from a mental health professional but didn’t get it. This is why The Trevor Project is committed to ensuring that Black LGBTQ youth are supported, represented, and provided with free and confidential care year round.
Trevor has expert-informed guides, intersectional research and advocacy programs, a diverse team of trained crisis counselors, and celebrates the Black LGBTQ community all year long:

Trevor aims to always be there for Black LGBTQ youth, especially those in crisis, with a clear message: You are loved. Your life matters. You are never alone.
In solidarity each day of the year,
The Trevor Project
