Dear John,
You can tell Senators to stop the Emergencies Act after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau rammed it through the House of Commons with the help of the NDP.
The Senate will now vote on whether to authorize the use of the Emergencies Act tonight.
You need to make sure senators vote against authorizing the Emergencies Act and end the extraordinary powers stemming from it.
“Prime Minister Trudeau has set a dangerous precedent by invoking the never before used federal Emergencies Act to address the current situation,” said Christine Van Geyn, who is the Litigation Director for the Canadian Constitution Foundation. “The high threshold for declaring a public order emergency in the Emergencies Act has not been met.
“This is illegal and violates the rule of law.”
Please email senators and tell them to vote against authorizing the Emergencies Act.

If you’re looking for more information on the Emergencies Act, this is a great column written by the Macdonald-Laurier Institute: https://torontosun.com/opinion/columnists/wudrick-trudeau-uses-the-nuclear-option-without-justification
Thanks for sticking up for taxpayers – it’s making a difference!
