Did you see us in Reuters last week, John?
In an article about the importance of the upcoming Governors’ races across the country, and in the fight to protect voting rights, our executive director, Kadida Kenner, was quoted saying:
“They say every election is the most important of our lifetime. Well, this one is.”
That may seem dramatic, but it’s really true! Extremist Republicans are VERY angry about losing the presidency, and they’re eyeing every seat from county clerks to the governor's office to take control of our elections and ensure they never lose again. If there was ever a time to worry about the safety of our democracy, it’s right now.
As a swing state, Pennsylvania has a tough election year ahead. But with our efforts to preserve mail-in-voting, engage voters in historically underrepresented regions, and our goal to register 50,000 new voters in 2022, we’re ready to take the challenge head on.

The New Pennsylvania Project was founded in May 2021 to expand Pennsylvania’s electorate, so it reflects the Commonwealth’s demographically changing population. In the next four years, NPP will engage and empower young residents, and those living in underrepresented communities of color and immigrant communities.
