John, earlier this morning, U.S. Senator Rick Scott released an 11 point plan to 'rescue' America. And yes, it's just as nationalistic, homophobic and sexist as you would expect from one of Florida's slimiest swamp creatures.
Scott does note that he hopes his plan is ridiculed by the 'Woke Left' and Washington insiders, and while we hate to give him the satisfaction, we also can't let a document so bonkers and so hateful go unaddressed. We might as well have some fun while we do it! So we're going to be rating key sections of Scott's plan the only way we know how: with πPride flagsπ. The more Pride flags received, the bigger the bigotry (basically, The Washington Post's Pinocchio rating system). Without further ado:
The worst bits: Parents have the right to know what their children are being taught and who is teaching them. AND We will not allow political or social indoctrination in our schools.
THIS RECEIVES: ππππππ for extreme bigotry!
Right now, state legislatures across the country are trying to ban LGBTQ-friendly education. In Florida, out LGBTQ elected officials are battling to stop the notorious 'Don't Say Gay' bill, one of many hate-based legislative drives to ban teachers from even discussing anything LGBTQ - even forcing them to out kids to their parents. As Florida Governor, Scott refused to acknowledge Pride Month or say 'gay' or 'LGBT' when talking about the Pulse Nightclub shooting. No wonder he's for this bill - and banishing LGBTQ lives from classrooms.
The worst bits: Our military will engage in ZERO diversity training, teachings on critical race theory, or any woke ideological indoctrination that divides our troops.
THIS RECEIVES: ππππππ for extreme bigotry!
Instead of saying all this, Scott could have just said that he hates that America's armed forces were integrated after World War II, that trans people can serve at all and that LGBTQ people can serve openly. And instead of claiming to be 'color-blind', Scott should just admit that diversity trainings and LGBTQ kids in schools keep him up at night.
- "FAIR, FRAUD-FREE ELECTIONS"
The worst bits: No American citizen can be denied their sacred right to vote or be given special voting privileges based on race, religion, zip code, or ethnic origins.
THIS RECEIVES: ππππππππππππππ for extreme bigotry!
We would agree with this statement, if Scott hadn't spent the rest of the section parroting talking points designed to invalidate President Biden's election and strip voting access from people based on their race, religion, zip code or ethnic origins. And Scott isn't alone in his lies: this is the new credo of anti-equality candidates everywhere. Out candidates Brian Sims, running for Lt. Governor of Pennsylvania; U.S. Congressman Chris Pappas; Kris Mayes, running for Arizona Attorney General; and more are running against candidates bent on spreading the Big Lie. Help Victory Fund elect them with a generous donation today!
The worst bits: The nuclear family is crucial to civilization, it is Godβs design for humanity, and it must be protected and celebrated. AND We will STOP Democrat Party efforts to discriminate against faith-based adoption agencies. AND We must defend the American family from societal elements that erode it.
THIS RECEIVES: ππππππππππππππππ for extreme bigotry!
One word: yikes. As many LGBTQ parents - like U.S Congresswoman Angie Craig, Nebraska state Senator Megan Hunt and many more - can attest, families can take many shapes and forms. LGBTQ families don't erode society or 'God's design for humanity' - they provide safe and loving spaces for kids. That's why so many LGBTQ candidates and elected officials are working to stop these agencies from discriminating against LGBTQ parents.Β
The worst bits: Men and women are biologically different, βmale and female He created them.β AND There are two genders, and abortion stops a beating heart. To say otherwise is to deny science. AND No government forms will include questions about βgender identityβ or βsexual preference.β
THIS RECEIVES: ππππππππππππππππππππππ for extreme bigotry!
Isn't it ironic to hear from someone who railed against vaccine mandates, mask-wearing and general COVID-19 safety protocols that 'following science' is suddenly paramount? As many of our out trans candidates can attest, this isn't science or faith - it's just hated wrapped in sanctimonious language.
- "RELIGIOUS LIBERTY / BIG TECH"
The worst bits: Americans will not be required to go against their core values and beliefs in order to conform to culture or government. AND No tax dollars will be used to pay for any diversity training or other woke indoctrination that is hostile to faith.
THIS RECEIVES: ππππππππππππππ for extreme bigotry!
Scott would not only be shocked to learn that some LGBTQ people are religious, but that many religious people wish he would stop including them in his hatred. But it's clear that Scott doesn't actually care about religion - he just cares about ensuring LGBTQ people can be fired from their jobs, banished from their places of worship, kicked out of their homes and ostracized in schools.
Obviously, there's a lot of things wrong with Rick Scott's future plans for America - this is just the start. But despite Scott's plan and his fellow bigots' best efforts, LGBTQ people are still here - and we're still fighting back.
We're grateful so many LGBTQ people hear this rhetoric for the nonsense it is - and are stepping up to run and ensure this 11-point plan never becomes a reality. Chip in right now to elect LGBTQ people who will block Rick Scott and other bigots from ever passing their hate-based agendas!
Thanks for standing with us,
