2019 has been an important year for Race Forward. We have a new mission and vision, which underscores our renewed commitment to communities most affected by racial injustice. Our new vision guides this commitment: we imagine a just, multiracial, democratic society, free from oppression and exploitation, in which people of color thrive with power and purpose.
Make a donation today to support our vision.
Race Forward catalyzes tools, resources, convenings, policies, and narratives that work to advance racial justice in our communities. And where do these solutions come from? They come from YOU: the 4,000 people who joined us at our Facing Race Conference last year, the 20,000 who committed to building racial equity by joining our trainings, and the 2 million people who read Colorlines and share news and culture articles with a racial justice lens. YOU are building this movement, and we’re here to support and amplify the work that you do to catalyze change.
Our new mission, vision, and work build on our history. We are still the home for innovative and effective racial justice strategies and projects. We publish Colorlines, produce the largest racial justice conference in the country, and transform local and regional government through our work with jurisdictions, the Government Alliance on Race and Equity (GARE).
Some of our major highlights of 2019 include:
- MASS FREEDOM: Bridging the movements to end mass incarceration and mass deportation, and working with both to promote a more unified and strengthened approach to our shared liberation.
- 100% Renewable and Equitable Cities Initiative: Convening and supporting advocates in three of America’s largest metropolitan areas (Atlanta, Seattle, and Washington D.C.) to reach 100% renewable energy with 100% racial equity.
- Momentum: A Race Forward Podcast: Launching our new podcast that features movement voices, stories, and strategies for #RacialJustice.
We want to be a resource that communities of color can turn to, building the power that ensures our movement continues, whatever the future may bring. But we can’t do this alone.
You helped to create this movement – can you help us sustain it with a donation today?
In solidarity,
Glenn Harris
