Dear John,

2022 is a year for celebration!

There’s no denying that the last two years have caused havoc and hardship for so many.

Yet even in life’s darkest moments you and I have reason to celebrate God’s goodness and love for His people – yesterday, today and tomorrow.

And John, at the heart of the African Enterprise celebration this year … is you.

That’s right, it’s your faithful support and prayer – and the contributions of thousands of Australians with a heart for Africa – that have enabled 60 years of ministry and millions of lives changed in Word and Deed.

You make it possible for local missions teams to share the love of Jesus with millions of Africans like Anna.

Anna lived in a Muslim household with her husband and children in Tanzania, when one day her husband walked out the front door – and didn’t return.

Suddenly the sole carer for her children, Anna despaired. She says:

“I passed through a hard time. I almost decided life was not worth living, but my heart thought about my children.”

But when she heard the Gospel through a local mission team in Tanzania, her hope blossomed at the Good News that Jesus loved her.

Anna no longer lives in despair but in the joy of the Lord. She passionately serves Him as a volunteer in Tanzania. She can’t stop smiling as she shares:

“Accepting Christ not only changed my spiritual life but brought a smile to my face. From the time I humbled myself to Jesus, everything was new. I felt hope in my heart; I am comforted and realise the true love of Christ.”

God’s call in 2022 is to continue holding true and pressing on as together we celebrate 60 years of His love in action in Africa – and look to the amazing things He will do this year through your generosity.

That’s why I’m asking you to give generously today to help meet the 120,000 funding need and help more people hold true to the Gospel and press on in Christ’s name as they come to know Him through missions. <[link removed]>

Because as more and more people like Anna come to know Christ’s love, they are moved to also share Him with their family, friends and neighbours. As Anna says:

“I believe that God wanted me to know Him through AE, where my happy and hope-filled life started. My passion is now to reach other people through AE.”

Only Jesus can change a life completely – because He is the one who makes all things new (Rev 21:5). Yet He chooses to invite you and me to be a part of that transformative work.

For 60 years, God has worked through the generosity of people like you to reach people across Africa in Word and Deed.

Millions of hearts have been made new; millions of lives have been transformed.

Thank you for your part in an amazing 60 years – and as you stand, holding true and pressing on, I want to thank you for your generosity today.

Because your gift will help even more Africans like Anna to discover the truth of the Gospel and give them an opportunity to know Him. <[link removed]>

Now that’s something to celebrate!

In Christ,

Ben Campbell
