WILL Supports Legislation to Expand School Choice, Charter School Options

WILL Director of Education Policy, Libby Sobic, testified at the Assembly Education Committee on three bills to expand education options.

AB 967 will require school districts to authorize existing high-performing charter schools that want to expand and add additional campuses.

AB 968 will create a charter school authorizing board so more independent charter schools can be authorized in Wisconsin.

AB 970 removes barriers to the parental choice programs and empowers parents to customize their child’s education in 2022-2023.

Election Integrity Reforms to Advance for Votes

WILL Policy Director, Kyle Koenen, testified Monday on election integrity reforms at the Assembly Committee on State Affairs. Many of the reforms that will be voted on in the Assembly and Senate feature recommendations from WILL's recent Review of the 2020 Election.

Ranked-Choice Voting Proposals Likely to Overpromise, Underdeliver

A new WILL policy brief, Rank the Vote: The Implications and Record of Ranked-Choice Voting, finds that the states and municipalities that have employed ranked-choice voting haven’t provided much evidence that the system would serve to address some of the structural issues in American politics, and could make things worse with lengthy and chaotic election aftermaths with bizarre results that don’t reflect a majority or plurality.
WILL Brings 'Right on Healthcare' Initiative to Wisconsin

The Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty (WILL), in partnership with the Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF), will be launching a ‘Right on Healthcare’ policy initiative in Wisconsin. Right on Healthcare will offer Wisconsin policymakers new and innovative policy ideas that ensure Wisconsin has a healthcare system that prioritizes the needs of patients through competition, innovation, and expanded access.
