John --
There’s a lot of chaos in Washington this week, and I know how frustrating that can be. But there’s still good, bipartisan progress being made — particularly when it comes to supporting our veterans.
This week, the House passed two pieces of legislation that I introduced — the Protect the GI Bill Act and The Housing for Women Veterans Act. A total of eight bipartisan bills supporting our veterans that I co-authored have now passed in the House. Two of them already have been passed by the Senate and signed into law.
We celebrated Veterans Day the week, and it’s a great point of pride for me that we’ve been able to honor their service by producing tangible, bipartisan results. Our legislation will reduce veteran homelessness and make sure veterans pursuing higher education are set up for success.
John, with the country watching how the impeachment hearings will play out, we know our bipartisan progress won’t get the coverage it deserves. But the fact is we are breaking through the gridlock and distractions to get work done for the 49th District.
Of course, none of this would be possible without your continued support. So I want to extend my gratitude for everything you’ve done to help me continue working on behalf of our community.
Thank you,
Mike
