It's the late John Lewis' 82nd birthday today, friend – and in honor of his pioneering legacy, we're asking you to sign a petition to protect the right to vote – what John Lewis dedicated his life to defending.

From the Civil Rights Movement to the halls of Congress, Lewis made it his mission to ensure that everyone – regardless of the color of their skin – had the right to vote.

That's what makes it all the more horrific that Republicans are brazenly trying to make "Jim Crow 2.0" the law of the land – by introducing over 440 voter suppression bills in 49 states across the country. These bills are intended to make it harder for Black communities to get to the ballot box.

In the face of these racist attacks, we can't give up on John Lewis' vision. That's why we're running a petition to protect the right to vote – but with hours to go, we're still missing your signature, friend. Please, help us reach our goal of gathering 7,500 signatures by midnight tonight:
