There's been a lot going on in the voting rights world over the past few weeks:

-- In a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court ruled that, well, they can't rule on partisan gerrymandering
-- The Supreme Court blocked the citizenship question from going on the 2020 census
-- Then the Trump administration fought (and failed) in another attempt to add the citizenship question to the 2020 census
-- And Florida's governor just signed a poll tax into law.

Make no mistake now, voting rights are under attack now more than ever.

With the 2020 elections and census right around the corner, Republicans are pulling out every trick in the book to suppress the right to vote.

That's why we're fighting back. But if we're going to take on their voter suppression machine, we need people all across the country to step up and take action with us.

So I'm asking you directly, can you chip in $5 to fight voter suppression today?

The Supreme Court's decision on gerrymandering is a devastating blow to our democracy.

Allowing partisan gerrymandering is allowing politicians to choose their voters, when it should be the other way around.

And after the 2020 census, every state is going to be redrawing legislative district maps. That means whoever is in control of the state has a chance to rig maps in their favor.

When Republican-led states begin redistricting in 2021, there will be no federal judicial check on their extreme partisan gerrymandering.
In fact, Republicans are already pulling out tricks to rig elections in their favor -- like Florida's Republican Governor signing a bill into law that puts a poll tax in place to prevent some individuals with felony records from voting.

This is why we have to stay committed to our fight to make sure every person has the chance to make their voice heard. We'll fight for the right to vote, and to kick every Republican voter-suppressor out of office.

But we can't do it alone.
