John, it's hard to believe, but our primary election is only five months away and tomorrow marks the first official day for candidates to file to run in the Democratic primary for Missouri's first Congressional district.

In 2020, Cori defeated a 20-year incumbent to become the first Black woman to represent Missouri in Congress and the first activist from the movement in defense of Black lives to be elected to federal office.
In just over one year in office, Cori has had more than 20 pieces of legislation passed through the House — a monumental accomplishment for a freshman member of Congress. In addition, Cori has introduced over 10 pieces of legislation and co-sponsored over 240 bills from Medicare for All to a Green New Deal.
To be clear though, our work isn't finished yet. People are still going to bed hungry. Folks in St. Louis are still being evicted in the midst of an ever-changing pandemic. And the climate crisis threatens us all.
Cori only won her last race by 3 points, so we're not taking anything for granted. The far-right has already named us a top target of their attacks — and any future opponents will have GOP super PACs ready to spend millions to attack Cori.
