“Evoking Biden, Sen. Tom Carper says bipartisanship isn't dead”
February 4, 2022
I’ve been heading the Environment and Public Works Committee for a year now, John, and I’m proud of the work we’ve been able to do -- together.
With President Biden in the White House, we’re getting things done for the American people, for our country, and for our planet. And it’s working.
“Carper's record atop the powerful environmental panel, which has unanimously passed a major bipartisan highway bill and water bill, suggests that [bipartisanship] can pay off.”
- The Washington Post
The proof is in the results:
*
We
passed
the
bipartisan
infrastructure
bill
to
ensure
everyone
has
access
to
clean
water
and
to
build
safer,
climate-resilient
infrastructure,
including
big
investments
in
electric
vehicle
charging
infrastructure.
*
*
Under
the
Biden
Administration,
the
EPA
announced
it’s
bringing
back
pollution
rules
that
require
power
plants
to
reduce
dangerous
pollutants
like
mercury
and
acid
gasses
--
rules
that
Donald
Trump
rolled
back
during
his
time
in
the
White
House.

I’m
working
with
colleagues
from
the
other
side
of
the
aisle
to
introduce
legislation
that
would
phase
out
climate-warming
chemicals
called
hydrofluorocarbons.
That’s the Delaware way: communication, collaboration, and compromise.
And we’re just getting started. President Biden and Democrats want to keep fighting for our values and the future of our planet, but we need to know grassroots supporters like you are in this fight with us. If we can count on your support, please add your name today. [[link removed]]
Keep fighting,
