Join Our Local Groups Meeting To
Organise (Or Build) A Local People's Assembly Protest On The Cost Of Living Crisis
Tuesday 22nd February, 6.30pm
by Zoom
If we'd not called last week's successful Cost of Living Crisis protests, we would not have achieved the fantastic media coverage we got. Besides showing the discontent around these rises, the protests importantly showed the growing movement of resistance to the government and the rises.
See this fantastic clip from Gogglebox on the Cost Of Living Crisis Protests. The cast of mainly ordinary, everyday people very clearly articulates the voices of people everywhere instead of the usual right wing voices we often get in the media.
So we must keep building the protests and keep the pressure on the Government. We've arranged a Zoom People's Assembly local groups meeting this Tue 22nd, 6.30pm to look at building the next wave of protests we've called for on 5th March (there also one of 2nd April just after the rises start). We have opened this up to anyone interested in getting involved and wanting to organise a People's Assembly protest near them. The meeting will be a practical one to look at where organisers are up to and support needed etc. Why not join us?

The People's Assembly is ideally placed to build the biggest movement possible against the Cost of Living rises. We are an 'umbrella' organisation backed by the major trade unions and have many progressive campaigns affiliated to us. We have a good track record of bringing all these together on the issues we all agree on.

Britain Needs a Pay Rise!
TUC NW National Demonstration
|
All roads lead to Blackpool...
Saturday 19th March, 11am
Bank Hey Street, Blackpool , FY1 4BJ
The TUC NW has organised a national demonstration when the Tories are in Blackpool for their Spring Conference. They write:
'No matter your job, everyone deserves a decent living wage. But with energy bills and other costs rising, it's becoming harder to get by.
Something must be done. As trade unionists, we know how much we and our families need a fairer deal and we have a clear idea of the changes needed to get there.
On Saturday 19 March 2022, 11am, union members from around the country will come together for a march and rally to launch our campaign: Britain needs a pay rise!
We must show the government how many of us are demanding change.'
They're asking people to RSPV to let them know you'll be joining them. Click link here.
Let's all help the TUC make this a huge turnout. We deserve fair wages and pay rises. So let's show the Tories what we think about them and their Cost of Living Crisis.
