John,
Governor Greg Gianforte does not believe teachers should teach about societal equity. Gianforte is against a proposed revision to the Montana Professional Educator Code of Ethics that would add the word “equity” to it.
“I don’t wish to see Montana’s public schools fall into the traps of promoting a political agenda, in the name of equity, that jeopardizes our students’ opportunities,” he said.
We think equity is kind of important when it comes to our teachers and our children. There shouldn’t be a political agenda in the classroom. It shouldn’t be a big deal to expect our educators to treat their students - our kids - with equity, inclusion, and respect.
If you agree that Gianforte is politicizing schools, teachers, and children, chip in $20 to the Montana Democratic Party today, so we can send a message that we DO believe in equity here in Big Sky Country.
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: Equity is a Montana value. Let’s ensure no more Republicans are elected who believe otherwise.
Chip in any amount today to help us out.
