John,
We're fighting to Flip the South and that is why I’m excited to tell you
that we’ve endorsed Beto O’Rourke for Governor in Texas.

A native of El Paso and a fourth-generation Texan, Beto was elected to
represent his hometown and the 16th District in the U.S. House in 2012,
winning in a race against an eight-term incumbent.
Now he's taking on Greg Abbott, the Governor of Texas who used false
claims of widespread voter fraud to make it harder for millions of Texans
to vote.
We need to make sure Beto has the resources to tell voters the truth about
how Greg Abbott continues to put the interests of wealthy campaign
contributors ahead of everyday people.

Greg Abbott's major claims to fame are suppressing the right to vote,
taking away a women’s right to choose, and going on Fox News to spread
blatant misinformation while millions of his Texans went without power for
days during freezing temperatures. On the flip side, Beto is all in on
expanding democracy, fighting for reproductive justice, and building a
modern energy grid using renewable energy.
Skeptics may think that it is impossible for a Democrat like Beto to have
a chance to unseat Abbott in Texas this year… but just 3 years ago, Beto
O’Rourke was less than 3 points from winning a crucial Senate seat in
Texas.
This shows that with a strong people-powered campaign, we have a real
chance to kick Abbott out of office and elect a progressive Democrat as
the next Governor of Texas.
With your help, we can deliver a devastating loss to the GOP and elect a
true representative of the people in Texas come this November.
