2/27 Chapter Meeting
Thanks to everyone who attended our last chapter meeting! We tlked with Dev Atma Khalsa about his run for the County Magistrate position and his non-punitive stance on substance abuse, talked with our comrade from the Painters Union and their current actions, and and discussed our procedure for nominating and electing new chapter leadership. At our next meeting, which will be next week, we'll be electing new chapter leadership! Please attend so you can be a part of the process and meet the new team.

Nominating Petition for Dev Atma Khalsa
At our last meeting we had a talk with Dev Atma, who is running on a progressive, non-punitive and rehabilitative platform for Santa Fe County Magistrate judge. He emphasized he wanted to follow the example of 1st District Circuit Court Judge Jason Lidyard (who was profiled by the Washington Post), and help people who are suffering from addiction or otherwise stuck, instead of putting them behind bars. He's currently collecting signatures to get on the ballot, and if you'd like to help with that process, we can put you in touch with him. Please email us at [email protected]. |
