In a few short weeks, the new parliament will be starting up – and I just met with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau today to let him know exactly where we stand.

I made our priorities clear, John, and that we’re not going to stop standing up for people.

Our NDP MPs are fighting to put people before mega corporations and the super wealthy. We’re standing up to huge insurance companies to bring pharmacare for all to every single Canadian. And we’re demanding that Trudeau’s Liberals stop taking Indigenous kids to court over and over again.

Our team is making sure that this government works for people, not the ultra-rich and powerful.

But with a minority government, Trudeau’s Liberals are going to do everything they can to avoid putting Canadians first – and while they stall on real action for health care and climate change, our MPs have a plan to hold them accountable and get the work done. But to really get our message out there, we need your help. Can you chip in $3 right now so our MPs can focus on fighting for people – right from day one?

Everywhere I went during the campaign, I heard from Canadians who are facing impossible choices. Families having to choose between supporting their aging parents, or saving for their kids’ education. Seniors having to cut their pills in half to make their prescriptions last, or choose to buy fresh groceries to feed themselves.

Canadians deserve better. This parliament, our NDP MPs are going to continue fighting to make life better for people – and I’m proud to be part of a team of MPs who are committed to fighting the climate crisis and creating good jobs.

Today I told Justin Trudeau what our priorities are, and I laid out exactly how we’re going to get them done. We have an opportunity to make life better for Canadians, and chipping in now will help our teams keep up the fight.
