We’ll walk through the formation of climate justice, from slavery to environmental racism and environmental justice, to economic freedom and energy democracy, with our guides Elizabeth Yeampierre, Kali Akuno, and Inkza Angeles who show us the ways in which they live and embody a relationship with land and with community that sets an example for the rest of us. Last
season, we shared stories of local community solutions based in Just Transition expressed through multimedia art projects called “Story Snapshots.” This season takes us back to basics, with 15+ interviews and remaining episodes to be released in April 2022 for Earth Day. Stories
from Home, Moving the Just Transition is produced by Keenan Rhodes, Jessica Xiao, and Olivia Burlingame with audio editing, music production and sound effects by Elijah Pouges. We’re thrilled to incorporate music by Monica Atkins aka Surreal, co-executive director of the Climate Justice Alliance, in our podcast series this season. The intro track and some sound accents are from the song “Love, Black, Warrior.” Find more of her work here.
