Last week, the Democratic Attorneys General Association endorsed State Senator Jen Jordan to be the next Attorney General for the state of Georgia.
Jen is a fearless leader. As a State Senator, she has a history of fighting for workers, families, and keeping Georgia’s communities safe. She’s stood up to factory pollution, predatory payday lenders, and Republican officials who have tried to undermine the right to vote, and we know she’ll be just as fearless as Georgia’s next AG.
You might remember Jen Jordan from her viral (and deeply personal) 2019 floor speech where she unequivocally spoke out and defended reproductive rights and abortion access.
But Jen has been fighting for workers, families, and Georgia communities for years – taking on:
Predatory payday lenders,
An insurance company that refused to cover breast cancer treatments,
A factory that was dumping dangerous amounts of cancer-causing chemicals into the air,
And even the former Republican Secretary of State after his office unlawfully distributed the personal information of every voter in the state.
She filed a lawsuit to delay enforcement of a voter ID law that could have disenfranchised thousands of voters, especially older Black and Brown voters – and went toe-to-toe in the Georgia Senate with Rudy Giuliani and Trump’s legal team as they tried to overturn the votes of millions of Americans in 2020.
Jen understands the struggles facing Georgia families and workers because she’s lived many of them herself. She was raised by a single mom. She put herself through school by working multiple minimum wage jobs, applying for scholarships, and taking out student loans. She’s raised two kids and pursued a career that has allowed her to connect with and lift up her community. And with your help, we are going to make Jen Jordan the next Democratic Attorney General of the State of Georgia.
