Did you see the exciting news, John?
BNC Representative Cori Bush has already passed 20 pieces of legislation since taking office just over a year ago – including six amendments last week.
This is an incredible feat for a freshman member, and it proves that when we send organizers and activists to Congress they get 👏🏿 things 👏🏿 done 👏🏿.
We’ve got to send Cori and the rest of our BNC reps some back-up. We have a chance starting right now with my home state of Texas.
Early voting is happening now in the Texas primary, and Election Day is just 11 days away. Both Jessica Cisneros and Jessica Mason are in close races that could come down to a handful of votes – just like the five votes that sent BNC’s newest representative Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick to Congress.
We can’t let a close race swing the wrong way, John. Can you pitch in $25, $50, or $100 today to help us turn out the vote in Texas on March 1st?
Let’s win this.

Subject: Cori Bush just passed SIX pieces of legislation
John -- The establishment wants you to believe that progressives can’t get anything passed in the House because they’re “too far left.”
But Cori Bush is showing them just how wrong they are. Last week the House passed the COMPETES Act – including SIX amendments from Rep. Bush.
Take a look:
- Vaccine Diplomacy: an amendment to expand testing and vaccine distribution globally (a vital move to getting this pandemic under control)
-
Transfer Credits from Alternative Secondary Schooling: an amendment to make investments in our HBCUs and expand opportunities for Black students
- Solar Manufacturing: an amendment to help the U.S. transition to green, renewable energy
-
Water Pollution Study: an amendment to study the impact of fossil fuel pollution and plastic ingestion on sea life
- Offshore Wind Targets: an amendment to strengthen our commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions
-
Environmental and Public Health Study on Afghanistan: an amendment to study the consequences of U.S. regulations and sanctions in Afghanistan
Each of these amendments constitutes a victory for progress and justice. And Cori is just getting started.
She’s getting the job done, but we need to send Cori more backup. We already helped elect Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick in the FL-20 special election. Sheila was sworn in to Congress exactly one month ago after BNC helped her win her primary by just FIVE votes.
Now we’re less than two weeks out from the Texas primary, and two more BNC candidates are on the ballot: Jessica Cisneros (TX-28) and Jessica Mason (TX-30). Will you chip in $25 now to help us get out the vote in Texas?
