Hi John,

International Women’s Day is just around the corner on March 8th.

For many, International Women’s Day is a day to come together, in person or virtually, and celebrate sisterhood! A time to acknowledge women’s achievements and contributions in our own lives and across the world.

But with many barriers to equality still firmly in place, it’s important to take a stand against the issues holding women back. Issues that deny women their rights, stopping them from living their lives and thriving in society.

One such barrier is men’s violence against women. It is estimated that 1 in 3 women will experience violence in their lifetime. It’s the tragic reason why women such as Aisling Murphy, Bibaa Henry, Nicole Smallman, Sarah Everard will be familiar to many of you.

Women's rights organisations at the heart of change
In the face of shocking statistics and news stories, women’s rights organisations and feminist movements across the world are coming together to make transformative change in their communities. Together we are challenging gender norms that perpetuate inequality. Together we are supporting all women to speak out against violence. Together we are demanding legislation that protects women and delivers justice.
International Women's Day 2022: #ConnectionsCount

After two years of isolation and lockdown, we want to send a message of connection and solidarity this International Women’s Day. To end violence against women and girls, we must unite.

Will you join with others and make #ConnectionsCount? Your fundraising efforts will support our work with grassroots women’s rights organisations in Africa & Asia. Here are some ways you can get involved:
#ConnectionsCount Steps Challenge

Join a friend and walk or run 30,000 steps in the month of March to show that #ConnectionsCount. Register here for the #ConnectionsCount Steps Challenge and you will each get a medal for your achievement!
#ConnectionsCount Coffee Morning

Host a coffee morning for your friends, family and neighbours and show that to tackle violence against women and girls #ConnectionsCount.
We can send you leaflets, balloons and stickers to make an impact.
#ConnectionsCount Quiz Night

Gather your friends on International Women’s Day (8th March) and attempt our Feminist Fundraiser Quiz. This could be done in person or online. Download our Feminist Fundraiser Quiz here.
