** ‘Young People, Youth Workers and Consent’ - let us know your thoughts

NYCI's National Youth Health Programme, with support from the School of Psychology in NUI Galway, is developing training on consent to support youth workers and volunteers to incorporate consent into their work with young people. In order to create a training that is relevant and useful, we are eager to hear your thoughts, so please complete this survey ([link removed]) and make sure your point of view is heard. Understanding Self-Harm

Ógras Youth Theatre has a new home

There are limited spaces left for young people aged 10-14 in the group that will meet in Ionad Pobail Chnoc na Cathrach, Galway, every Friday. The club focuses on the personal and social development of its members, as well as their artistic development, encouraging confidence, self-respect, responsibility understanding, friendship, as well as adding to and improving spoken Irish and communication skills. The Young Environmentalist Awards 2020

** 135 Irish Girl Guides receive Organisation's Highest Award

135 members of Irish Girl Guides received the Trail Blazer National Guide Award at a special ceremony in Croke Park last month. The award is made in recognition of the successful completion of a series of challenges, including teamwork, outdoor survival, community service, and more. Young, Paperless & Powerful

Undocumented children and young people need your help! Young, Paperless & Powerful is planning a week of action from November 18-22, and needs your support. There is currently no pathway to residency for undocumented children and young people in Ireland – even for those born here. Without legal status, they live in fear of deportation and are denied access to third level education, adequate health services, and work and travel opportunities. ** The Ability Programme

The Ability Programme is a free, voluntary service for young people offering support and guidance to develop positive pathways to work and study. The programme connects young people experiencing emotional, psychological, or mental health challenges and co-occurring disabilities with guidance workers to assist them engage with work and/or study, learn new skills, find volunteering, and take steps towards finding sustainable employment. The Youth Identity Project challenges young women to explore who they are and reflect on where their sense of identity comes from.
