Governor Hogan joined CNN’s “State of the Union” to discuss his call for the Maryland State Board of Education to end mask mandates in schools and his fight for the future of the Republican party.
Governor Hogan urged the Republican party to move in a new direction away from former President Trump’s obsession about litigating the 2020 election towards a “positive, hopeful vision for America.”
Here’s what they are saying about Governor Hogan’s advocacy:
CNN reported Governor Hogan argued former President Trump’s “preoccupation with the results of the 2020 election is holding [Republicans] back from having ‘a positive, hopeful vision for America.”
Daily Caller reported Governor Hogan said Republicans in Washington are too often focused on the wrong things,” making them less effective in being able to “stand up” to the worst parts of President Biden’s agenda.
Newsweek reported Governor Hogan criticized the “circular firing squad where we attack Republicans,” arguing “the Republican Party that I want to get back to is the one that believes in freedom and truth.”
Business Insider reported Governor Hogan is a “common-sense conservative” and “lifelong Republican” who is “completely frustrated with politics on both sides, Republicans and Democrats.”
Governor Hogan is continuing his laser focus on tackling violent crime, announcing a large-scale joint federal, state, and local operation that resulted in an additional 104 fugitive arrests in Baltimore City.
While taking action on the urgent crisis of violent crime, Governor Hogan is also urging the Maryland legislature to finally pass his common sense bills for tougher penalties for violent offenders and real transparency to track the sentences that are handed down by judges for violent crimes.
Governor Hogan is also delivering on his promise to Re-Fund the Police with $500 million of increased funding for law enforcement. Earlier this week, Governor Hogan signed a historic pay raise for Maryland police and first responders.
