With only two days left in the campaign, I'm reflecting on my first race for governor, when most people thought I didn't stand a chance. We proved them wrong, against all odds, by sticking to a simple promise: to put Louisiana first.
Friends, this race is different from 2015. In many ways, it's more challenging. Back then, I was seen as a long shot, and Republican special interests didn't make my race a priority. This time around, they're not taking any chances. The Republican Governors Association alone has spent over $6 million to try to defeat me. They've put a target on my back, and they're doing everything they can to tear me down and undo all of the progress we've made for Louisiana. Will you donate now to help me fight back?

As much as I'd like to believe their money isn't making a difference, I know that it is. It's one of the main reasons why, despite my opponent's weaknesses - like his plan to repeal Medicaid expansion or his refusal to do more than one debate - we're practically tied in the polls. He and his allies have spent millions on false and misleading ads, and they're going to spend even more in the final two days.
If we're going to beat them and win reelection, we need to fight back, harder than ever. And that takes resources. With the race so close, a group of anxious donors has offered to match every grassroots gift from now until polls open on Saturday.
