This Tuesday, President Biden's five Federal Reserve nominees were supposed to face a committee vote, but instead, Sen. Pat Toomey sabotaged the process by leading the Senate Banking Republicans in a cheap political stunt. They refused to show up to do their jobs, and now Biden's nominees are stuck in limbo.

We need these five nominees confirmed ASAP—their positions at the Federal Reserve are critical to tackling today's record-high inflation, securing jobs, and mitigating the serious threat that the climate crisis poses to our financial system. Sen. Toomey's political blockade on Tuesday shows that in order to get what they want, Republicans are willing to sabotage the economy and ignore the overwhelming consensus (among regulators, countless businesses, and the finance industry) that climate change is a profound threat to our financial system and must be addressed.

Senate Majority Leader Schumer can't buckle under the Republican pressure to stop the confirmation process—we need to advance every one of these nominees together ASAP, leaving no one behind. Will you sign our petition calling on Senator Schumer to ignore the Republicans' stunts and fight to advance all five candidates who need to start getting to work fighting inflation and protecting our economy from climate risk?
