Folks — There’s simply too much dark money in our politics.
How’d that happen? Well, twelve years ago, the Supreme Court handed down its decision in Citizens United, opening the floodgates for unchecked dark money to directly influence our elections and our government.
It was — and remains — a disastrous decision. Citizens United tipped the scales of democracy toward special interest groups and corporations, turning elections into bidding wars rather than healthy debates about our values and policy preferences.
But politics doesn’t have to be this way. I ran on reforming our campaign finance laws, and I won’t give up on the fight to ensure politicians answer to folks like you, not wealthy special interests. But I need your help.
Folks, will add your name next to mine and demand that Congress fix Citizens United so we can stop billionaires from buying elections and restore trust in our democracy?
Thank you for making your voice heard alongside mine. It’s time to get dark money out of our politics once and for all.
