John,
The lines in New York’s 16th District have officially been redrawn, and we are officially redistricted! Take a look below:
Since news of redistricting became official, our field team has been busy at work calling our neighbors. In fact, earlier this week — we hit 10,000 calls for the year! Our volunteers have called over 10,000 voters to connect folks with resources and to hear what issues matter most in our community. ❤️
We’ve also been wasting no time getting to know the newest constituents of our district safely — whether that be via Zoom gatherings (here’s Jamaal talking to new constituents in Carmel, Putnam County)…
…or masked, in-person events like school board meetings in parts of Westchester County that are new to New York’s 16th District, meeting with neighbors who are committed to keeping our schools centers of love, acceptance, and the truth.
Our district may look a little different now, but one thing hasn’t changed: we’re still a grassroots campaign, relying on contributions from folks like you who give what they can, when they can.
Your contributions help us pay for organizing tools, digital tools that help us reach and connect with new constituents and audiences, and fuel mutual aid efforts on the ground in New York's 16th District.
And unlike Jamaal’s establishment challengers who will also be fighting for votes and support in our new district, Jamaal doesn’t have the luxury of self-funding our campaign, or writing five-figure checks to himself.
And the truth is that this race may get a lot more competitive before the primary — so we need to ramp up our efforts now when it counts the most.
Together,
Luke Hayes, Campaign Manager
