UNICEF is NOT funded by the United Nations.

This is actually TRUE!

UNICEF’s work depends entirely on voluntary contributions from governments, NGOs, foundations and donations from supporters like you.

One of UNICEF’s biggest funders is the U.S. Government, but this money isn’t guaranteed. Every year, this funding is determined by a government funding process called "appropriations" that begins at the President’s desk in the form of a yearly budget request.

In a few weeks, President Biden will make his funding requests for 2023 and Congress will begin the process of deciding how to distribute the money. The amount will be in flux as members of Congress consider what’s most important to their constituents — and this is our opportunity. The more they hear from constituents (you) early in the process, the more influence your voices will have.
One of the most powerful ways to make your voice heard is to join us for our upcoming 2022 Advocacy Day on March 24, 2022. On Advocacy Day, supporters like you from across the U.S. come together virtually to build relationships with their members of Congress and raise awareness of UNICEF's work.

We’re working overtime to protect vulnerable children around the world who are feeling the ripple effects of the ongoing pandemic. The appropriations process is about to begin and we need everyone to ask their members of Congress to prioritize its voluntary contribution to UNICEF.

Will you join us virtually on Advocacy Day and ask your members of Congress to make UNICEF’s funding a priority for 2023?
Thank you for helping us protect every child.
