Robert’s proudest moment was becoming a citizen, and it’s the reason he went into public service.

Robert’s mother brought him to the United States and risked everything so that he could become an American. Robert credits his mother for who he is today.

After his mom passed away from Covid-19, Robert promised to work harder than ever to make sure other families didn’t experience the same pain – deciding to run for Congress.

Protecting California families is Robert’s number one priority. Whether it’s through education, healthcare, job security, economic opportunity or fighting for more paths to citizenship, Robert Garcia will be a voice for working Californians in Congress.

Robert is Long Beach’s youngest elected mayor and the first openly gay and Latino mayor of the city. In Congress, Robert will fight for women, immigrants, and the LGBTQ+ community.
