# [#] Last month, my team and I filed a lawsuit against a company, Center for COVID Control, for providing invalid or delayed COVID-19 test results, lying to patients, and taking advantage of Washingtonians at the height of the pandemic.
And yesterday, a judge ordered that they cannot operate testing centers in Washington while the case continues. Furthermore, due to this court order, the company agreed to never operate in Washington state again.
The company, based in Illinois, operated about a dozen sites in Washington state and more than 300 sites across the country.
Believe it or not — the Center for COVID Control stored COVID tests in unrefrigerated garbage bags. They also backdated tests, so stale samples would still be processed. They even instructed employees to lie to Washingtonians who called seeking information about their delayed test results.
I will hold the Center for COVID Control accountable for their unconscionable and illegal actions.
The COVID-19 pandemic has taken so much from all of us over the past two years. This company exploited the pandemic to increase their profits while endangering thousands of Washingtonians.
