The election insiders at Sabato's Crystal Ball have assessed the state of our race to flip NY-01 and are calling it a pure TOSS-UP.
New York's 1st Congressional District: 2022 rating: Toss-Up
Veteran national political prognosticators are saying what we've all known – the future of New York's 1st District is up to us to decide, John.
Here's what Sabato's Crystal Ball said in their qualitative report:
"We are starting NY-1, which covers some traditionally swingy areas, as a Toss-up, although this is a district Democrats should be able to win in most years (it's just that 2022 might be a bad Democratic year, which has bearing on all of our ratings)."
John, the experts are absolutely right. We're facing strong headwinds going into the midterms, and whether we win this toss-up seat for Democrats will depend on the work we put in right now.
With Roe v. Wade, action on climate change, our freedom to vote, and so much more hanging in the balance – we cannot afford to have a "bad year." Our race could easily decide control of the entire House, and Kara's the right candidate to finally flip it, but we need your help.
