Dear People For Supporter,
People For has an ambitious plan this year to build real pro-voting rights majorities in Congress that are dedicated to defending the core principle that every eligible citizen should be able to cast a vote and have that vote counted fairly.
The Senate, in particular, is a key focus. We have races where we have the chance to unseat anti-democracy extremists, like Sen. Ron Johnson in Wisconsin. There are open seats in states like Pennsylvania, Ohio, and North Carolina that give us the chance to replace senators who have blocked efforts to protect voting rights. And, of course, we’ll be working to fend off attacks on voting rights champions, like Rev. Raphael Warnock in Georgia, who is perhaps target #1 of the anti-democracy Far Right this year.
A true pro-democracy majority in the Senate means that we’ll be able to overcome the abuse of arcane procedural rules like the filibuster and protect the freedom to vote. And it means ensuring the confirmation of more judges – and even Supreme Court justices – who will defend that most sacred right against racist and authoritarian attacks.
Will you be part of this work? We have a movement to mobilize and thousands upon thousands of voters to reach in these key races, so it’s imperative that our members like you are all-in.
