John,

Everyone deserves to feel safe in their own home – no matter their circumstances, income, or gender identity. That's why Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced the city’s first-ever strategic plan to address gender-based violence and human trafficking.

The life-saving services provided by the network of advocates and organizations will:

Reduce harm and violence in homes and communities

Reduce fear and increase safety

Increase gender and racial equity

The best part? Not only was this plan co-designed by community partners, survivors, and City leaders, its services are free, confidential, and tailored to the survivor's needs.

Mayor Lightfoot knows that securing resources for domestic violence survivors and survivors of gender-based violence is a top priority and she will continue to advocate for survivors long as she is in office.

Thank you,
