I asked the Ohio Democratic Party to remain neutral in our Senate race. Late last night, they didn’t listen, and endorsed our opponent Tim Ryan before a single vote was cast in the Democratic primary election.
It’s clear that those in charge will continue to tip the scales in favor of our establishment opponent. Despite Tim Ryan’s past anti-abortion and pro-gun stances, despite his failed record for delivering change to his constituents, despite him being one of the largest recipients of special interest lobbying money in the entire U.S. Congress, they’ll still do anything to hand him the nomination.
It's official, John: It’s us against the machine.
Ohioans are sick of an establishment that picks winners and losers without any regard to what the people want. Check out just some of the reactions to the announcement from voters online:

“Let voters decide who is the best candidate not out of touch elite party members.”
