John, there is an unfathomable danger for any child to handle a firearm, especially those that mimic weapons of war. The likes of which are handled by highly trained member of the military and used specifically in combat. I simply can’t think of something more heinous than ingraining assault weapons into American culture for generations to come.
Assault rifles are the weapon of choice for some of the deadliest mass shootings, having been used to massacre children in Newton and Parkland. We should be doing exactly the opposite of giving these to children – we need to ban these firearms from our streets. But through decades of tragedy by AR-15-laden hands, the gun lobby continues to block legislation to ban assault weapons. John, we can’t let this become our country.
