Support for jobseekers

Sustrans is running a free Build a Bike course covering common bicycle maintenance.

Not only will participants receive a City and Guilds Level 1 in Bike Maintenance on completing the course, they'll be able to take the bike home with them.

The course will run from 28 February until 3 March, from 10am until 2.30pm each day. To apply go to http://sustransaccess.org.uk/survey/

Staying safe

Government guidance on face coverings changed on Thursday 27 January, however we advise that you continue to wear face coverings (unless exempt) on public transport and in other indoor spaces. If you need to travel, follow the safer travel guidance.

Bus services🚌

NCT: Weekday timetables resume from Monday 21 February. For more information visit NCT's website.

Rail services 🚆

EMR: A number of weekday services were reinstated this week, but timetable reductions remain in place. Online journey planners are updated on a weekly basis. Check EMR's webpage here.

CrossCountry: There is some disruption to services due to planned strike action. Check CrossCountry's website for the latest information.

Please check with your local operator before travelling for the latest information.

All operators in the city continue to clean vehicles thoroughly on a regular basis, and windows on buses will be kept open for ventilation.

  • Keep wearing a face covering
  • Carry hand sanitizer with you to use regularly
  • Plan ahead - avoid peak hours and routes

Severn Trent Water replacement scheme

Severn Trent will be undertaking a scheme to replace water mains on various roads in the Forest Fields area from July 2021. This will include rolling road closures and parking suspensions in 100m sections to excavate and install new water mains in the highway.
