Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer just announced that this Spring, Democrats will introduce a bill to reform federal cannabis laws!

This is a huge deal. The proposed legislation — known as the Cannabis Administration and Opportunity Act (CAOA) — would remove cannabis from the list of controlled substances, expunge non-violent offenses, and finally give our veterans legal access.

Eddie knows we need to move past the failed War on Cannabis. As of today, 37 states have legalized cannabis for recreational or medicinal purposes. But — our federal laws still treat “weed” the same as they did in the 1980s!

And despite our changing national attitudes, too many folks — disproportionately people of color — are still being persecuted for using cannabis. That’s why, when Eddie is elected, he will work to reform federal law and end the federal prohibition of cannabis!
