Friends,
Last Wednesday, the Democratic-led House passed the Global Respect Act with a bipartisan vote. This Act will ensure that anyone who violates the human rights of any member of the LGBTQ+ community will be barred from entering the United States.
Around the world, thousands of members of the LGBTQ+ community are the targets of harassment and hate crimes every single year. Now, the House has taken measures to stand with our LGBTQ+ friends, family, and neighbors — and to send a clear message that anyone who commits an offense against members of this community is not allowed in the United States.
This is an important step towards safety and security for LGBTQ+ Americans, but we cannot stop there. It is absolutely critical that the Senate not only pass the Global Respect Act, but also the Equality Act, which David introduced and has passed the House as well.
Will you add your name to demand that the Senate PASS these critical pieces of legislation to honor and protect all LGBTQ+ Americans? [[link removed]]
TELL THE SENATE: ADVANCE LGBTQ+ RIGHTS NOW [[link removed]]David will not rest until we can truly guarantee liberty and justice for all. Thank you for your support in this fight, team.
In solidarity,
Team Cicilline
