Right on Healthcare will offer Wisconsin policymakers new and innovative policy ideas that ensure Wisconsin has a healthcare system that prioritizes the needs of patients through competition, innovation, and expanded access. The Quotes: WILL Policy Director, Kyle Koenen, said, “The Right on Healthcare initiative will bring innovative, patient-centered healthcare policy reforms to Wisconsin. With reforms to address healthcare costs, access, and competition, Right on Healthcare can serve as an alternative to the government-centric approach of the Left.” David Balat, Director of the Right on Healthcare Initiative, said, “Our two organizations focus on the thing that most seem to forget - the patient. Patient driven reforms that focus on affordability, access, and improving the safety net are at the forefront of our thinking in developing healthcare policy. Right on Healthcare is proud to have a partner in the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty." Right on Healthcare: The Right on Healthcare initiative, pioneered by TPPF, will bring research, advocacy, and policy proposals to Wisconsin that will lower healthcare costs, increase access, and ensure every Wisconsinite is in charge of their own individual or family medical decisions. WILL’s partnership with TPPF will focus on the following priorities to lower healthcare costs expand access for Wisconsinites: Patient-Centered Care. With consolidation leading to fewer choices in healthcare, it is essential to give patients more options to self-direct their care. Whether it’s by legalizing direct primary care agreements, expanding tele-health options, or allowing innovative health insurance products, patients should be given more options to to direct their own care. Price Transparency. Patients can face surprise bills for routine or scheduled services. And market forces have failed to take root in our healthcare system, largely because patients cannot reasonably compare prices between providers. By providing greater transparency on the costs of health services, patients will be empowered to make the best decisions for their families. Healthcare Workforce. Wisconsin continues to struggle to find healthcare professionals to meet patient demand. While patient safety should be the foremost concern, unnecessary barriers that prevent qualified professionals from practicing to their fullest potential should be reduced.
