John, February is shaping up to be an exciting month. Let me begin with the commemoration of Black History Month. Across the nation, many are celebrating the accomplishments of Black Americans throughout history. I’d like to use this moment to bring awareness to a critical issue affecting Black communities: racial bias within the criminal legal system, with a focus on the death penalty. I filmed a video that calls for conservatives to become more involved in efforts to end the death penalty.
Also, the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) is next week! Thousands of conservative activists, lawmakers, and influencers will gather in Orlando to discuss important issues in the conservative movement. Conservatives Concerned has been a regular participant at CPAC since 2012, and I will be there this year. And guess what? For the first time in the history of the conference, the death penalty will be on the agenda! This debate from the CPAC stage is a signal that more and more of us are seeing that this wasteful, inefficient, ineffective system will only continue to fail.
