Dear AFGE Members,
This Black History Month, we recognize the inextricable bonds between race and labor, celebrate the historical solidarity between the Labor Movement and the Civil Rights Movement, and reaffirm our commitment to using our collective power to fight for justice in the ongoing struggle against racism and white supremacy.
In that spirit, the Women’s and Fair Practices Departments and AFGE B.L.A.C.K. are proud to invite you to three virtual programs in celebration of Black History Month.
Join us on Wednesday, February 23rd from 7-9pm EST for a webinar on the history of the Black Labor Movement. On Thursday, the 24th from 7-9pm EST we will host a panel bringing together Black law enforcement from different federal agencies to discuss the intersections of Blackness, policing, and unionism. Finally, on Monday the 28th from 7-9pm EST, join us for a panel discussion about the experiences of Black AFGE members.
