When I started my campaign in 2017, I didn’t run to impeach Donald Trump. I ran to lower health care costs, protect our environment and create opportunity for everyone in South Florida. But, now, we must address Donald Trump’s reckless and problematic abuse of power in the Oval Office, and I believe it’s time to open an impeachment inquiry into the President. The Mueller report has made it clear that the president committed obstruction of justice, an impeachable offense. Trump has committed a number of offenses that prove that he is unfit for office, including lying to the American people, placing his business interests above the country’s and ignoring several subpoenas from Congress to appear before a committee. This is not a decision I take lightly, and I’d like to know your opinion on this matter. Do you support opening an impeachment inquiry on the President? Respond with yes or no. An impeachment hearing does not necessarily mean that he would be removed from office. It doesn’t even mean that the vote would come before the House. It would simply allow us to expedite the investigation into the claims of his obstruction and obtain the information we need to make a more informed decision. The American people deserve to know what the President has done behind closed doors that compromises his commitment to the Constitution. Sign my petition now if you support opening an impeachment inquiry. I took an oath when I was sworn into Congress to protect and uphold the Constitution of the United States of America. I take that duty seriously. Thank you, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell Paid for by Debbie for Congress |
