Supreme Court decisions, like Shelby County v. Holder, gutted key provisions of the Voting Rights Act and opened the door to restrictive voting laws, especially targeting communities of color.

This is unacceptable. We should be making it easier to vote – not harder.

Josh served as counsel on the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee when the Supreme Court handed down its decision in Shelby County v. Holder, and his team immediately went to work on legislation to restore it.

Josh has a proven track record of defending our Democracy and fighting for everyone’s voice to be heard. But our work won’t be done until:

1. Election Day is a federal holiday.
2. Same-day voter registration is available to all.
3. Absentee voting by mail is a right.
4. Those who are convicted of crimes have their right to vote restored once they have paid their debts to society.
5. And we fix our broken campaign finance system.
