Here’s what we’ve learned about January 6:
- Donald Trump promised to pardon insurrectionists that stormed the Capitol if they succeeded in restoring him to power.
- Trump allies schemed to spy on Americans through the National Security Agency to find “evidence” for conspiracy theories.
- The Trump administration drafted, but never issued, an executive order to use the National Guard to seize voting machines.
January 6 was no riot. It was an armed coup attempt against the United States government, and it’s time the news media and all leaders in Washington treat Donald Trump as the dangerous threat to democracy that he is.
Donald Trump is already laying the groundwork for another Presidential campaign in 2024 – and many are treating him as if he was any other candidate.
Donald Trump openly admitted that he wanted Mike Pence to overturn the 2020 election. He is a clear and present danger to the continuation of our sacred democracy.
