John, Days after leaving her job as an NBC sports broadcaster, Michele Tafoya is jumping headfirst into Minnesota politics and making headlines for all the wrong reasons. After signing on as the campaign co-chair for one of Governor Walz's opponents, Tafoya appeared on Tucker Carlson's Fox News show where she said: "It breaks my heart that my kids are being taught that skin color matters." John, it's astonishing that in 2022 we are still debating whether or not systemic racism is real. Systemic racism is real, and it has plagued our state and our country for far too long. Over the past two years, millions of Americans have engaged in a meaningful conversation about race and justice. The dialogue is difficult at times but necessary if we're ever going to heal and find new, better ways forward. One thing is for sure: Sweeping our history under the rug will only doom us to repeat the same mistakes over and over again. This November, we have a choice: We can either move forward together, or we can let the GOP divide us and take us backward.
