As you gear up to hit the route, don't forget: our monthly General Meeting will be this Saturday, February 19th at 12PM! The General Meeting is our largest regular gathering of members, and our Chapter's highest decision-making body, so if you can only make one meeting a month, make it this one!
Highlights this month include:
- Updates on a bunch of chapter projects, and information on how you can get involved!
- A presentation from Eye on Surveillance on NOPD's effort to repeal the current ban on police use of facial-recognition technology
- Debate and vote on a resolution to join the BDS & Palestine Working Group’s call to expel Rep. Jamal Bowman
- You can find the complete draft agenda for the meeting here
Register for the call here.
To ensure all our decisions are being made democratically, our bylaws require a quorum of 10% of membership to be present for the General Meeting to hold votes. If you can't make it this Saturday, please request a proxy by emailing [email protected]! A proxy is a member designated to vote in your place at the meeting- when requesting a proxy, you can either name another member as your proxy, or if you don't have anybody in mind, just let us know and we can match you with someone!
