Friends,

Good-paying careers in the IT field are booming, with more open jobs across Iowa every day - but many of these positions require knowledge or experience with computer coding.

While there are higher education programs offer degrees in computer science and other coding related fields, I've heard more and more from Iowans that are taking advantage of short-term "bootcamps" to learn coding and other important jobs skills.

I want to hear your story, if you have one to share:

In the past five years, have you attended a 'coding bootcamp' or other program aimed at providing computer skills?

If yes, did you successfully get a job in the computer science/programming field?

Did you find that the skills provided by the bootcamp helped your job prospects?

Why or why not?

In general, did you find that your computer skills program provided you skills that you could use to pursue a new career pathway or job?

Why or why not?

Thank you,
Cindy
